Islimela is the fine arts division of 1 Old Note. We dance, we sing; we put together words and melody, translated in our bodies and lived out in our lives as an offering unto the Most High God – the LORD.

A Bride for Christ

A short devotional on our upcoming book Revelations: Missio Dei (The Mission of Christ)

God is loving and kind. Though we live on earth where the devil rules God has given us victory. Not only has He given us this victory but He hides us in Him. As He hides us in Him He refines us through the flames of trials but His grace is ever with us.

“Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.” Romans 5:3-5 (NIV)

God is preparing us for His rewards, eternal life that He has promised to the faithful. His covering gives us peace on earth, teaching us to bear every fruit that we will need for life.

“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;” Peter 2:9 (NKJV)

God chose us for Himself – we must bless Him always. He chose us to be His bride without blemish, His Holy nation – the New Jerusalem that He will reveal when He appears again, when we appear with Him in glory being like Him. “Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.” Revelation 21:2 (NKJV)

The deadly pestilence of God’s judgement will not affect us (the plagues and hell); the snare of the fowler will not have us (the reigns of the devil for a thousand years) because God holds us, He keeps us safely tucked in Him.

“For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.” Colossians 3:3‭-‬4 (NKJV)

“Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence.” Psalms 91:3 (NKJV)

The mission of God is to restore relationship with us, with humanity by cleansing us from all sin, making us holy like He is and to punish sin eternally. He beautifies us as His bride and keeps us for eternity where pain will not be known nor tear be seen for God will make all things perfect.

“Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls filled with the seven last plagues came to me and talked with me, saying, “Come, I will show you the bride, the Lamb’s wife.” And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, having the glory of God. Her light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal.” Revelation 21:9‭-‬11 (NKJV)

Let us hold on to God and trust Him. He is love.
