A Thrill of Hope

This is a story of a beautiful and glorious night. A night whose light had come and His name was Christ. He would come and save the world from its pining because of sin. His Spirit would teach us to respond in reverance, to bow and join in with the Angel’s song – for the night was Holy and the King had come to earth.
“For unto us a child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6 (NKJV)
He would come and be:
Wonderful Counselor – Counsel with patience. God who will hold us by the hand and help us in all things.
Mighty God – God who will win every battle we are faced with.
Everlasting Father – He is Father when you are 104 years old or when you are 4 years old. There is never a time when God will stop being Father to us. He is Father here on earth and Father in Heaven.
Prince of Peace – His peace will hold us. We will never be found pining in sin again. Should there be a ripple effect of someone else’s sin on us, He will be the peace that keeps our sanity as He holds us as a Father, and conquers the battle for us.
“O! Holy Night, the stars are brightly shining
It is a night of a dear Saviour’s birth.
Long lay the world in sin and error, pining; ’til He appeared and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices!
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morning
Fall, on your knees. O! Hear the Angel’s voices.
O! Night divine. O! Night when Christ was born.
O! Night divine. O! Night, when Christ was born.”
