A Trail of Love

“Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying, ‘Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in East and have come to worship Him.”
Matthew 2:1-2 (NKJV)
Sometimes we may not know which way to take or which course to follow. We may feel daunted by life and overwhelmed by the road ahead but God is always here with His beautiful leading of love. He is always with us looking to help us find the right path for our lives. If there is anyone who wants what is best for us it is God, and if we ask for His guidance He will give it to us. He will never lead us astray, He does not care about us bright sparks, we can never be bright outside of Him. There is absolutely nothing we can do to impress God, so we might as well ask Him to lead us. He loves to, and He will. We also need to ask Him to open our eyes up to His leading. He is our guide.
How did the shepherds know to follow the Star? How did Solomon know to use the ant? Is not this wisdom all from God, the leading of the Holy Spirit, submitting to little unctions and saying yes to mediocre tasks?
God called the shepherds with three gifts wise men – they followed the star; no man is known to be as wise as Solomon in the Bible – he watched nature and drew lessons from it. We too are wise when we follow God’s leading, there is no greater wisdom than this. Follow God, He is in the whisper.
“After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. After the fire came a gentle whisper. When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave. Then a voice said to him, ‘What are you doing here, Elijah.’ “
1 Kings 19:12-13 (NIV)
God is in the quiet. He is in what seems mediocre. Learn to do the little well, obey Him in the small tasks. Do what you know is right. Deny yourself in the mundane and see if you will not see a great work done by Him when you look back. These are our stars to follow.
Most importantly, we are to follow the Bright Morning Star – Jesus Christ, who is the only guiding trail to our Master – God. No one will see Heaven but by Jesus. There is only one way to the Father, all else are destructions that separate us from the love of God which is eternal life here on earth and in the Heavens above.
His blood marks the trail, He washed us clean by it and if we live in Him we live under His blood; if we live under His blood we live in His love and grace. We live safe and loved
