Anchored to The Rock

Christ Jesus is our Solid Rock, our firm foundation. He wants us to live life fixated on Him so that we may live victorious. What does this mean for us? It means that at all times and in everything we do, we do from a place of being rooted in Him, steady and unshaken by the things that may come against us.
"When the disciples saw Him walking on the lake, they were terrified. "It's a ghost," they said, and cried out in fear. But Jesus immediately said to them: "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid." "Lord, if it's you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water." "Come," He said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus." Matthew 14:26-29 (NIV)
Jesus is our Shepherd. He promised to lead us towards the best pathway for our lives and to provide for every need that would arise. You may be in a space where you feel led by God into but feel yourself drowning – drowning because of anxiety to perform. This may be due to fear of failure at a task ahead or the anxiety to maintain excellence at what you are known to master. God wants us to focus on Him.
In such spaces, when we shift our eyes from Jesus, the winds and the ways may swallow us. The anxiety and fear may grip us and we may drown. We bless God that He us with us at all times – even in our lowest moments.
"But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!" Immediately Jesus reached out His hand and caught him. "You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?" Matthew 14:30-31 (NIV)
We need to remember that if we are submitted to Jesus it is He who leads us. Where are where we are because He wants us to be there. He is able to carry us in every space we are at. We must trust in Him and fix our eyes on Him. Forget the winds and the waves; forget your anxieties and fear. Trust that God who led you will help you even in the midst of all things – things good and bad. Be unshaken.
As Jesus builds your faith and leads you, ask Him to help you trust Him more. Let Him anchor you in failure and success. Glory in Him, trust in Him. There is such more God wants to do for and through us.
