But the Sheep

“All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them.” John 10:8 (NIV)
When we look at the world around us and see all the pain and suffering – pandemics and ailments, we cannot deny that we have an enemy whose evil is so intense; an enemy who carries so much power that with that power he is able to turn the world upside down by himself. With that power seeks to steal, to kill and to destroy us. An enemy who is able to influence multitudes into what is wrong.
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10 (NIV)
Jesus is our salvation. He calls Himself the Good Shepherd. If we follow Him and stay in His pen He will keep us safe from all harm. He will not allow our feet to slip. He wants to protect us from all these things, He wants to keep us safe from the attacks of the enemy. The only way we can receive His protection is by being in His pen of safety – this is accepting Him as Lord and Saviour of our lives and living according to His ways.
When we live according to God’s ways we will be familiar with Him. When we are familiar with Him we will follow nothing and no one else but Him. We will know Him, He knows us. We will be led by Him this is our promise from Him.
“But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.” John 10:5 (NIV)
To know Gods voice we must spend time in His word. We must read our bibles. Everything we feel inspired to must always align with the Bible. It will keep us safe. When the devil comes with incitations, deceit and cunning plans, not only will we be safe in God’s pasture but we will not follow Him because God’s laws will be so embedded in our hearts. Let us ask God to help us believe that we hear His voice and that He knows us enough to lead us in a way that we recognise. He is for us , He will never allow the devil to have us.
