Calls on the Depth

“O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth! You have set Your glory above the Heavens.” Psalm 8:1(NIV)
“For God is the King of all the earth; sing to Him a psalm of praise.” Psalm 47:2 (NIV)
“The Heavens proclaim His righteousness, and all the peoples see His glory.” Psalm 97:6 (NIV)
Praise God, He is Lord over all things. He does not need us to affirm Him but chooses to receive praise from us – He is a great and kind God. He is covered in splendour and is full of might. God is also Lord in us who choose Him, He puts Himself in the heart of man and allows us to praise His holy name; He allows us to call Him Lord. He reigns over the earth and also chooses to reign in us.
“The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice.” Psalm 97:1 (NIV)
He teaches us how to seek His face, how to dwell in Him. He makes our hearts pure and puts praises within us so that all our hearts desire is to exalt His name.
“Light is shed upon the righteous and joy on the upright in heart. Rejoice in the Lord, you who are righteous, and praise His holy name.” Psalm 97:11-12 (NIV)
“From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise because of your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.” Psalm 8:2 (NIV)
God made the constellations. He made the planets, He carefully put together the atmosphere and holds the heavenlies together. He chose a void and formless earth to breathe His life into it then He formed man and put His life in Him; making earth perfect for the conditions of man and man perfect for the conditions of earth. Wherever God would have us He would first make it perfect for us and us for it. Then God, in all the wonders He has made He chose to put eternity in the heart of man by dwelling in us and giving us a yearning for things beautiful and pleasant which He gives to us if we remain in Him. He carefully cradled life on earth for us then weaved us intricately for earth then crowned us with splendour and shares His authority with us.
“You made Him ruler over the works of Your hands; You put everything under His feet:” Psalm 8:6 (NIV)
“When I consider Your Heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place.” Psalm 8:3(NIV)
“My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” Psalm 139:15-16 (NIV)
“Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground. So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created Him; male and female He created them.” Genesis 1: 26-27 (NIV)
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.” Genesis 1:1-2 (NIV)
His Spirit today still hovers over all creation, over the galaxies and planets. He is Lord over all. He is around us and if we allow Him in, He lives within us. Our hearts will ever yearn for something greater and He will always be at our heart’s door waiting on us to open ourselves to Him.
“Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; all your waves and breakers have swept over me.” Psalm 42:7 (NIV)
“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.” Revelations 3:20 (NIV)
God is marvelous but in His love chose us. He is ever inviting us to open ourselves to Him. He is Lord over all things and knows all things and wants us to allow Him to be Lord in our lives too so that He can help us live this life in victory. Choose God.
