Displaying Splendour

God inscribes His word in our minds and hearts. He puts His Spirit within us to give His word life. His Spirit teaches us to obey His word so that we may be ornaments for the display of His glory. The presence of God is His glory; His presence gives us power to conquer and wisdom to succeed.
“The ark of the Lord remained in the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite for three months, and the Lord blessed him and his entire household.” 2 Samuel 6:11 (NIV)
The ark of the Lord was the presence of God before Jesus died and rose again leaving us with His Holy Spirit.
Jesus wants us to want Him fully. His gifts are good for us, our needs are always met by Him but He wants us to desire Him and not His things. His things are readily available for those who are in Him, those who enjoy His presence.
“Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:4 (NIV)
“But seek first His kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:33 (NIV)
“and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.” Isaiah 61:3 (NIV)
“As for you, if you walk before me in integrity of heart and uprightness, as David your father did, and do all I command and observe my decrees and laws, I will establish your royal throne over Israel forever, as I promised David your father when I said, ‘You shall never fail to have a man on the throne of Israel.’ ” 1 Kings 9:4-5 (NIV)
God gives us strong convictions about the Bible, puts His Spirit in us enabling us to live His word and causes us to display it beautifully – bearing the fruit of Christ.
Thank You, Jesus.
