Faith and the Name of JESUS

There is power in the name of Jesus – so we have heard; when we call on His name all knees bow, on earth, in heaven and under the seas. The name of Jesus carries so much power that even in pain we find healing, in lack we find plenty, in bondage we find deliverance. There is nothing the name of Jesus cannot do. How do we unlock this power that is so freely available to us? We access it by belief. We believe.
” ‘Because he loves me,’ says the Lord, ‘I will rescue him; I will protect him, for He acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honour him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.’ ” Psalm 91:14-16 (NIV)
The key to God’s deliverance is in the acknowledgement of His name. Knowing that it is the only name by which we can be saved. This means we must have faith in His name.
How do we build this faith in the name of Jesus? By reading about Him. What we feed upon we become, what we meditate on seeps to the depths of our hearts and influences our being.
“Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.” Romans 10:17 (NIV)
Let us read God’s word so we can build our faith, so we can have more effective prayers, so we can trust in the only name that is our deliverance – the name of Jesus.
“Our help is in the name of the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.” Psalm 124:8 (NIV)
Amen
