Finding Your Zeal

Christ’s death and ressurrection gave us the ability to be adopted as children of God. Children to be loved and tended to; children to be led and provided for. Children by nature need a lot of tending to and God chooses the people He wants to use as His hands and feet to the world.
Initially this usually is an exciting task done with so much zeal but as the winds and waves of ministry hit little by little one can be left worn out. It is good practice to maintain a healthy relationship with God as this feeds the soul and does a constant healing work but what happens when you find yourself without zeal and giving out of empty.
Getting back to that place of health means getting back to that place of love, getting back to a place of dependency and receiving from God.
We need to remember these simple truths.
We are known by God
“O LORD, you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.” Psalm 139:1-3 (NIV)
The beauty about life and all things that we go through is that Jesus sees everything and knows our capacities to handle it or our breaking points. We can take heart knowing that what we are going through is no surprise to God therefore He knows what to do with it when we take it to Him.
We are chosen by God
“until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen.” Acts 1:2 (NIV)
God makes no mistakes because He is wise. When He chose and appointed us He knew what He was doing. We know there is no greater power or greater source of wisdom than the Holy Spirit therefore we can be secure that He chose us because He knew we have the ability to not only fulfil our callings but to be successful in it.
• Our future is known by God
“For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
God knows where He is taking us and what He wants to do through us. Some things may seem blury at the moment but if our future is in God then we can rest in His faithfulness.
