Jehovah is Jireh

God is a God who is always ahead of all time. He is waiting at the end of time to receive us. He is waiting, sending His angels to ensure that we do not miss a step, that we are protected and met in every point of need. God is with us as we travel through life. He is within us leading us by His wisdom towards our greatest destiny when we meet Him in person, when He applauds our work on earth. God is with us. Sometimes we leave God’s way and purpose for us even though we may see it clearly because we are afraid of how to go about it. The greatest of all fears we may face may that be of finances. Finances are what adds or relieves pressure in life. God says money is the answer to all things.
“A feast is made for laughter, and wine makes life merry, but money is the answer for everything.” Ecclesiastes 10:19 (NIV)
Although money answers all of our needs – our need for food, for water, education and shelter we may not always have money. God encourages us to work, to work with our hands so that we may live. This may be hard to do in such an economic climate as we live in where jobs are scarce and poverty is the reality of many families around us. God promises us help. God promises to provide for our every need. God promises to show us where to go and how to go about every situation.
“Therefore do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes…So do not worry, saying, “what shall we eat?” or “What shall we wear?” For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them” Matthew 6:25, 31-32 (NIV)
We need to trust God and seek His face. We need to seek His kingdom, to seek His righteousness. When we live in harmony with God not only does He promise to do this for us but we see Him do it. He is a God who multiplies the little that we have and stretches our finances. In such tough times we need to live a life of generosity.
Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Luke 6:38 (NIV)
The only one who can sustain us, the only one who can provide for us is Christ.
“Financial planning ought not to be considered a guarantee of wealth, since the future is unknown to people, and the success of any venture is dependent upon God’s will.” Bill Hybels
“Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.” 1 Timothy 6:17 (NIV)
If nothing is for certain then we need to trust God. If the security of our future is not dependent on planning then it is wise to trust in the principles of God.
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in Heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:19-21 (NIV)
“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this, ” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.” Malachi 3:10 (NIV)
Every detail of our lives is carefully taken care of by God. He misses nothing like a fine tooth comb. If it bothers you, you can rest assured that it bothers God and He already has a solution for it. God is ahead of all time. He has seen all things and knows how to help us. Cling to God and trust Him with your life. He is God who provides.
