“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” Galatians 5:1 (NIV)
Jesus came to earth to set us free from the slavery of sin, the slavery that we were yoked. He came to restore our relationship with Him so that we could not only find freedom but safety from the devil and his evil schemes.
His love for us caused Him to offer Himself as the ultimate sacrifice, to die for our sin once and for all, so that we could be found blameless in the sight of God.
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 (NIV)
The work that He did on the cross defeated death eternally – death that comes from sin and gave us His life. We died with Him and we have received every spiritual blessing, everything that we will need to be victorious in life.
“Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.” John 15:13 (NIV)
Continually, without end He intercedes for us before the Father; for the Father to send His freedom, His deliverance, His forgiveness and unending grace towards us.
“Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to interecede for them.” Hebrews 7:25 (NIV)
God, our Father, is undefeated this is why He did all this for us and calls us to receive His love. His love is for us and with us and will continually save us.
