Lead led by God
“God is Spirit, and his worshippers must worship in spirit and in truth.” John 4:24 (NIV)
Worship is a sacred task from God for God. A task performed for the Holy God, worthy of all the praise and victorious in all His pursuits. A task for a perfect God by creatures in Heaven that were created perfect and holy by Him purely for Him.
Man is in His imperfect state remains God’s most prized possession and in God’s love for man He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross so that by His blood he could be made holy. Everything in Heaven and on earth was created by God for worship and this is why the purpose of all creation can only be found in Him.
“For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.” Colossians 1:16 (NIV)
For God to be able to do His work in us we need to live surrendered to Him. A life surrendered for Him to do as He pleases within and through us. This way He is able to do the work He performs in individuals, leading them, guiding them so that His corporate work that He wants to do through us is untainted.
“Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own.” 1 Corinthians 6:19 (NIV)
As we build with God in private He purges and purifies us. He deposits Himself, His Spirit within us teaching us to obey Him, helping us to have faith in Him. We are called to invite more people into what God is doing so God can do His work within them and join us in Him to form His Holy temple – united in love, in pursuit of God and in worldview.
“In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.” Ephesians 2:21-22 (NIV)
This means we should not neglect our separate times with God. We should spend daily time in prayer hearing from God, being made like Him, having Him deposit Himself in us so we can be vessels unclogged to pour His Spirit to the church, uniting us in His love, creating His Holy temple. We are the temple of Christ with the Holy Spirit being the mortar that joins us together, binding us in chords of love. He is a Friend who sticks closer than a brother – joining and leading us.
We need to treat worship to God with holiness, in obedience to Him for He is the author of it and knows what He desires. We must move with God for only He can lead us in worship, giving us the Spirit and the truth required for it.
“In all the travels of the Israelites, whenever the cloud lifted from above the tabernacle, they would set out; but if the cloud did not lift, they did not set out—until the day it lifted.” Exodus 40:36-37 (NIV)
God will keep us in tune with His Spirit forever. We need to have faith that He hears us, loves us and delights in our worship. The Spirit of the Cherubim that lives to worship God is the Spirit of God that moves in us as we worship God, we should be encouraged that our worship is sacred and well received by God.
“Each one went straight ahead. Wherever the spirit would go, they would go, without turning as they went.” Ezekiel1:12 (NIV)
