Psalm 139 A Closing Prayer

In the past four days we have seen that God keeps us pure and knows us intimately. His presence hems us in and He forever thinks about us. Today we learn that He helps us advance against a troop. All things that come against us in life – physical and spiritual, are nothing compared to the power of God. He is our defending force.
“If only you would slay the wicked, O God! Away from me, you blood thirsty men!” Psalm 139:19 (NIV)
“The Lord is my light and my salvation – whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life – of whom shall I be afraid? When evil men advance against me to devour my flesh, when my enemies and my foes attack me, they will stumble and fall.” Psalm 27:1-2 (NIV)
“Keep me as the apple of Your eye; hide me in the shadow of Ypur wings.” Psalm 19:8 (NIV)
“Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalm 139:23-24 (NIV)
It is God’s desire that we live in safety and victory. What better way can we receive from God than to pray His heart, His will – scripture. Say this short prayer if you are trusting God for victory.
A Closing Prayer
Keep me free from evil men and defeat the enemy on my behalf, Lord, I ask. Keep my heart pure and centered on Your Holy words. Keep me as the apple of Your eye; let no man touch me; let no evil come near me, let nothing that is not of You come near me – for You are a pure and Holy God, You are mighty and Your intentions about me are pure. Amen.
