Psalm 139 Though about in Love
“How precious to me are Your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them.” Psalm 139:17 (NIV)
It is not everyday that we get to hear of a servant being thought of by a great king. What are the odds of having that King think about him twice in one week? Yet our God, the Maker of all things thinks about us all day long. His thoughts about us cannot be counted; they cannot be measured. The bible says the grains of sand in all the seven seas of the world cannot match the thoughts He has of us.
“Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. When I awake, I am still with You.” Psalm 139:18 (NIV)
It is impossible to escape the thoughts of God. It is impossible for Him to forget about us. He loves us dearly and helps us to be forever drawn towards Him. He is our good Shepherd and He knows each of us by name. Our names are engraved in palms of His hands.
“See, I have engraved you in the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.” Isaiah 49:16 (NIV)
And God’s thoughts about us are good. His thoughts about us are loving, pure and of success. He keeps us as His branches and feeds us with all good things. He builds our lives up and watches to see that nothing steals or eats away of us.
“Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labour in vain. Unless the Lord watches over a city, the watchmen stand gaurd in vain.” Psalm 127:1 (NIV)
God’s thoughts are of love and safety. We know in Him we have all things pertaining to life. In Him we find our being and in Him we will forever enjoy safe pasture.
“For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord , ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
Jeremiah 29:11 (AMP)
