Reflecting God’s Glory

We are all called to shine God’s glory on earth in different ways and in different spaces. We are called to display the vastness of His being. We have been prepared for, by Him, things that cannot be imagined by human minds. Things that would blow our minds if shown to us in their entirety because He is good. This is known as God’s will for us. The way to this will tends to be narrow because God disciplines us so that we may display the beauty of His character. The way to God’s will. The way to the display of God’s glory is in keeping His commands – holding on to His hand.
The devil is opposed to the glory of God and will try by all means to dim His light. He entices us with quick fixes to our needs so that we lose our way. We don’t need to be overwhelmed by this because we know that in life’s pressures God has provided solutions for us. We can follow the example of Jesus in the book of Matthew when He was faced with temptation.
“Again, the devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. All this I will give You,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.” Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only.” Then the devil left Him, and angels came and attended Him.” Matthew 4: 8-11 (NIV)
God had given Jesus the promise to rule the whole world but it would take Him the journey of the cross. The devil had offered an easier alternative but it would cost Him God’s glory. We need to be careful to do God’s will His way. To follow His leading and not carve our own path no matter the cost. God promises to preserve our souls if we are set out to do His will His way. He will keep us in His love when we are faced with adversity. We obey God because we know He is sovereign. When we are faithful He proves Himself faithful.
“May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus.” Romans 15:5 (NIV)
Our souls are preserved by God. We able to endure because of Him. He is our strength and wisdom. His grace and Spirit carry us until we see His promises come to pass. We must trust in His faithfulness.
