Stewarding to Glory

After we have suffered a little while God promises to give us glory – to deliver and reign with us here on earth and in the world to come (Heaven). To each individual He has given abundantly, according to a man’s capacity and his faithfulness in stewardship.
“So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.’ His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of the lord.” Matthew 25:20-21 (NKJV)
We need to be faithful with what God has given us and in what He instructs us to do. God frowns upon complacency and blesses hardwork. He is always at His work, we should too if we are to be fruitful. He has blessings for us, success and fruitfulness – in Jeremiah He says the thoughts He thinks towards us are of success and hopefulness – to enjoy the present and look to the future with rest.
“How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; When I awake, I am still with You.” Psalms 139: 17-18 (NKJV)
We need to, like David, ask God to teach us to be good stewards of our time so that we do not miss anything that He has for us; and constantly seek His face so that we know and do His will
“So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom.” Psalms 90:12 (NKJV)
As we do what He instructs us to do, as we quietly follow the leading of His Spirit, He will make known to us what His plans for us are – what His thoughts about us are and will faithfully guide us towards them. His Spirit of wisdom within us will lead us into His thoughts – even about us.
“For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.” 1 Corinthians 2:11-12 (NKJV)
God will lead us into those we have not thought about, into those that lay beautifully in His mind.
“But as it is written: ‘Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things that God has prepared for those who love Him.’ ” 1 Corinthians 2:9 (NKJV)
So let us love God well in all circumstances by surrendering ourselves to Him in obedience to His will and following His leading. This way we love ourselves. We love Him and He commands a blessing our way. Life does not have enough time to give for us to be all God has called us to be, all He wants us to be – all He thinks about when He sees our names as individuals engraved in His palms. So, let us follow God and do what is in our hands now and well.
“See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; your walls are continually before Me.” Isaiah 49:16 (NKJV)
We are God’s workmanship, objects of His glory. His shoot, His oaks; let us allow Him to display Himself well in us.
