The Gospel Story | Justified Through Faith

The story of salvation teaches us that Jesus is the object and subject of our faith. It teaches us that our own efforts cannot save us. It is God who saves us and continually does a saving work within us.
Mankind is born in sin and has therefore been separated from God. God justifies us so that we may be made right with God. We are made right with God by faith. We are made righteous by the faithfulness of God, not by works.
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23 (NIV)
God’s grace is the gift to mankind that saves us. He died for our sin on the cross and He freely gives us this redemption by believing.
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8 (NIV)
“In fact, Abraham was justified by works, he had something to boast about – but not before God. What does the Scripture say? ‘Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”‘ Romans 4:2-3 (NIV)
The grace of God enables us to have faith in Him. We have faith in His character – that He is faithful and therefore can be trusted. We believe that He is God and that Jesus is His Son that died and rose again for us, then we are saved.
“That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” Romans 10:9-10 (NIV)
God credits our faith to us as righteousness. Take the easy route of trusting in Jesus Christ alone for salvation.
