This Gift of Love
God’s love comes without conditions or prerequisites. It is a love that freely flows to us when we need healing, provision or saving. It comes to us when we are at our lowest and holds us in times of glory. It is our security in uncertainty and our glory in triumph. God has given this love to us and desires that we give this love to those around us, generously.
“Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons. You received without paying; give without pay.” Matthew 10:8 (ESV)
God has given us this love because the world is hurting and in a dire state because of sin. Everywhere we turn we see people tormented by evil, poverty, crime and the likes but the beauty of this is that we can bring change to those around us without paying a cent. Extending a hand of help costs nothing for God has given us all that we need to set those around us free.
“But Peter said, ‘I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!’ ” Acts 3:6 (ESV)
We thank God for these miracles that Jesus did and expects of us; this is how we should display His love. The cross is love; salvation is love and every miracle that Jesus chooses to use us in should compliment the work of the cross. A sacrificial love unearned. No steps, no gimmicks but a display of God’s love for the lost.
“And he took him by the right hand and raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles were made strong.” Acts 3:7 (ESV)
Words of knowledge that say I see you, I know you and this is what I came for. Words of wisdom that say I am the way and I know which way you should go; these are all manifestations of the Holy Spirit love our souls; that heal our emotions and point us to a greater source – to God who heals and saves us. His love draws us to Him. His love calls us to repentance and His love is freely available to us and we should freely give it to the world.
“Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.” Isaiah 55:1 (ESV)
Receive from God love and give to the world this love.
