Islimela is the fine arts division of 1 Old Note. We dance, we sing; we put together words and melody, translated in our bodies and lived out in our lives as an offering unto the Most High God – the LORD.

Witnesses of Christ

Every Christian is called to works of the ministry. God has made provisions for us to be equipped in this regard by calling and ordaining those who serve in church buildings Monday to Sunday. Those God has called to equip us He, Himself has equipped them by the power of the Holy Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit none of us can do any of the things God requires of us, this is why He empties us to fill us with His Spirit. We need His Spirit to be effective in ministry.

"It was He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ." Ephesians 4:11-12 (NIV)

Our best space of effectiveness in ministry is found when we spend all our time in God. This looks like daily devotional times, asking God’s presence to be with you throughout the day and praying consistently. We cannot cultivate this without reading the Bible and saying prayer for everything – for food, for safety, a prayer of gratitude and seeing God in everything that you do, happens to you and are spared from. Those God has sent He fills with His Spirit that enables them to speak the word of God. Every work of God can only be done by His Spirit.

"For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit." John 3:34 (NIV)

Therefore we need to ask God to pour His Spirit on us, fill us with Himself so we can be effective in ministry. He is willing to give all of Himself to us.

"If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!" Luke 11:13 (NIV)

God will give us His Spirit if we ask. With His Spirit we will build His body, we will be healed, provided for and lacking in nothing. He will guide us, He will lead us and we will live our best lives in purpose, in Him.

"Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines." 1 Corinthians 12:7-11(NIV)

The body of Christ is under constant attack, we must be filled with God’s Spirit so we can stand, we can be healed, guided and receive all that God has for us. God wants to use His body to heal His body and add more members to it, let us ask Him to equip us with His Spirit. He wants to pour into us, it is a time for that. Let us allow Him.
